“I tried on so many dresses which were beautiful but then I put on the Charlie Brear dress over my head and as it slid down my arms I knew it was the one,” remembers Kim of her first visit to Perfect Day Bride. “I loved its simplicity, the way it skimmed my figure and the movement of the fabric. We then teamed it with a lace jacket to add some detail and added a full length veil and that was it, I was in love! I remember the first time I tried it on; I went away to think about it as Perfect Day was the first boutique I had visited, but it was all I could think about, so as soon as I got home I immediately booked another appointment and went back to order it!”
Kim’s gorgeous ensemble is the quintessential example of how glorious the Charlie Brear collection is. The ability to team items together to create the perfect outfit for your big day is one of the main lures for our brides and as you can see from the photos we’re privileged to share of Kim and Allan’s big day, the additions really help evoke personality and style.
Kim chose to accessorise a full length lace veil, nude suede slingback heels from Next, two small vintage clips in her hair and even matched her nail colour to the champagne tone of the bridesmaids dresses from Monsoon. The couple also used friends and family to help furnish their wedding, including a friend’s black mustang as wedding transport, a cake made by a friend of the Mother of the Bride, and flowers from the bride’s Grandmother, no less!
“We chose Wick Farm at Farleigh Hungerford as our wedding venue,” Kim told us. “It was absolutely beautiful, we fell in love with it on our first visit and it was effortlessly simple and it represented the theme of our wedding perfectly. Everyone involved made it such an enjoyable experience.”
“There are so many moments that I will cherish forever, but my absolute favourite was walking down the aisle and seeing my best friend and man I was about to marry in front of me, thankfully looking just as nervous as me!”
We asked Kim if she had any advice for any other brides-to-be who are reading our blog and she, wisely, said: “Enjoy every moment, embrace every emotion that you feel throughout the whole process and do exactly what you and your fiancé want to do. It will be the best day of your life if you follow your heart.”
“Another top tip would be to use everyone local/who you know. Every aspect of our wedding from our invitations to the photographs, cake, catering, hair/make up and singer, were people who meant something to us and who we both knew personally. This made the planning process and day even more special. It was like having all our friends involved!”
“Perfect Day were absolutely lovely, for me it is always daunting going into a boutique as I’m ridiculously tall and not a small frame so always worry that nothing would fit. However, this was not the case everyone made me feel so welcome, they allowed me to try on so many styles and the advice they gave was great, making me thoroughly at ease.”
Kim it was an absolute pleasure to dress you for your big day and it’s an honour to be able to share the story of your day on our blog. We wish you both all the happiness in the world!
