It’s a romance born and bred on the streets of Bristol where, appropriately, the setting for Claire and Jim’s wedding unfolded between St Mary’s Church is leafy Leigh Woods and the epic Clifton College with architecture and grandeur to die for. It’s easy to see from their wedding photos exactly why the newlyweds fell in love with each venue.
“I had been searching for my perfect dress for a while. It needed to be something a little bit different; elegant, sexy and sophisticated all rolled into one,” Claire explained. “I had seen and tried on many pretty dresses, different styles and shapes but hadn’t felt the connection I was expecting with any of them. That was until I found the Charlie Brear dress at Perfect Day, it was everything that I had wished for, it was so simple yet so beautiful, I knew I would feel great wearing it all day and I had the opportunity to customise it and really make it my own which I absolutely loved!”
“Finding my Charlie Brear dress was a fabulous experience. From the moment I walked into the shop last summer (after Laura and Kerry happily squeezed me in last minute) until I collected my dress, they made the experience one I’ll treasure forever. I had been to other shops but hadn’t found anywhere as special as this. I hadn’t heard of the designer before but after chatting to the team about the style of the wedding and ideas I had, her dresses came highly recommended. I remember putting on the dress and alone it was beautiful; we then started playing with the box of additions and that’s when it got really exciting! With every one the dress became more unique and more me. We ended up going for a beaded lace skirt, blush sash and added a little lace to the bust. Laura and Kerry really knew what would suit me and understood the look I was trying to achieve, they put together the dress of my dreams.”
Well, we’re blushing. It was an absolute pleasure for us to help Claire find a wedding dress that she connected with and, as you can see, she absolutely rocked the socks out of her fabulous Charlie Brear ensemble.
We asked Claire if, now that she’s been there and done it all, she had any advice for you lovely lot. This is what she very wisely said:
“Keep things simple. Looking online and in wedding magazines probably hindered more than helped me when it came to planning the day. There are so many ideas and possible looks out there that I found it easy to get carried away. Initially I worried about everything, had no idea how it would all come together and kept going over each and every decision I had made. I found it best to stop looking online and in magazines and trusted that the decisions I had made were right for our day.”
Judging by what a beautiful day it looked like (with that stunning July sunshine!) we completely agree that every decision Claire made was perfect for her wedding. Massive congratulations and huge thanks for sharing your wedding photos with us; we adored having you here in the Perfect Day boudoir for a little while!
