You may remember that earlier this year we were recruiting for a new team member to join the Perfect Day family. A huge amount of very talented ladies applied for the position, so we were really pleased with the reputation that Perfect Day must have for so many people to want to work with us! Thank you to everyone who took the time to put together an application.
Nonetheless, there could only be one successful candidate and today we’re pleased to introduce you to our brand new Saturday Stylist, Alex. Those of you who had appointments with us this past weekend would have met the lovely Alex on her first day, but for those of you who are yet to cross the Perfect Day threshold, here are a few things to know about our newest team member, direct from Alex herself. …
“I love weddings. From a young age I remember dressing up as a bride with my younger sister (she made sure the pictures to prove it were plastered everywhere on my hen do) and watching ‘Father of the Bride’ with my mum and sister several times. I loved going to weddings and being in awe of the stunning dresses, flowers, and the overall atmosphere of a wedding day.
As an adult, I enjoyed my own wedding and several friends’ weddings and hearing about the plans, the flowers, the cake…the dress. I did my friend’s wedding flowers a few years ago and knew then I really didn’t belong in the banking world I had been in for nine years. I took a complete career change and became a wedding planner and by the birth of my daughter I had planned over 100 weddings.
I met Laura during this time and we just hit it off. As part of my role I organised wedding fairs, one of which featured Perfect Day Bridal Rooms displaying their stunning dresses and accessories. When we weren’t chatting to couples we were chatting to each other about fashion, children, food, drink, particularly our mutual love of wine…. I totally knew they were my kind of girls! Kerry and Laura make such a great team and I thought that day how great it would be to do their job. After a random message to Laura on Facebook to try my luck, a chat and a trial, I’m finally here and I couldn’t be happier.
The wedding industry is truly unique and the people within it are some of the loveliest, bubbliest, most hardworking people I’ve met. Being part of a bride’s journey to the big day is an honour and something I will never get bored of.”
We’re sure you will join us in giving Alex a very warm welcome to the boutique. We can’t wait for all our lovely brides-to-be to meet her and experience her infectious enthusiasm for all things wedding related. This is the start of a new chapter for Perfect Day and we couldn’t be happier to have Alex joining the story at this point.
