Last month marked the second anniversary since we took over Perfect Day Bridal but 2014 has been such a whirlwind that we have only just found time to reflect on the amazing arc that we’ve been on since our first day in the boutique. We’ve been so busy riding this awesome rollercoaster that it seems pretty mind-blowing to think about what we’ve accomplished.
There’s been a definitive shift in the aesthetic we’ve created, which is due solely to the demands of our brides. We could easily have continued selling big frothy frocks and Cinderella dreams, but we felt that there was a gap in the market for the bride who wants to wear something a little bit cooler, a bit more fashion-forward, a bit more her.
As a result, we’ve slowly but surely started taking risks on new wedding dress designers, keeping our eye on innovative new collections that we know will speak to our customers. We’ve made difficult decisions to part company with beloved designers and collections and been oh-so-relieved to see our choices validated by the excitement of our brides.

It’s always daunting to differentiate your business from the tried-and-tested mass marketing in favour of something that might not work, but we’re so glad we took that gamble. The autonomy, individuality and personality that the likes of Charlie Brear and Belle & Bunty have brought to our shop is genuinely priceless, allowing our brides to create a look that exudes their own personal style. We can’t wait for Maria Senvo to join our stable of brilliant new lights in bridal wear.
We’re also proud to have introduced Maids to Measure bridesmaid range and to have the staunch support of a world of accessories that help style any big day look, from Harriet Wilde’s stunning shoes to our own in-house accessories team at Vivien J.
Of course, no bridal boutique stands on the merits of its designers alone. Our biggest achievement in our two year tenure undoubtedly has to be the legion of lovely ladies who have made the momentous decision to buy their wedding dress from Perfect Day Bridal. It has been our privilege to get to know each and every bride who has walked through our door, to educate them about their options and encourage their own style ideals. The only thing better than seeing the expression on their faces when they suddenly realise they’re wearing the most iconic dress of their lives, is the thank you notes and pictures we receive after their wedding day.
From our designer days to our style events, we’ve had some absolutely brilliant days here in store. We’ve been part of collaborative editorial shoots and dipped our toe into the waters of wedding fairs. We’re learning every day and coming up with even grander plans with each passing week.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, from our colleagues in the wedding industry to our newlywed ladies. We’re so excited for the future development of Perfect Day Bridal and can’t wait to reveal some of our schemes and dreams with you soon.
