Whilst rings were being brandished all over the place during the festive holidays, we were busy looking back at all the celebrities who tied the knot in 2014. From the media scrum surrounding Mr Clooney’s nuptials to the super-secret union of the artist formerly known as Cheryl Cole, we had an awful lot to look through.
- Olivia Palermo & Johannes Huebl
Fashion darling & snark queen since her days in The City, Olivia rocked a separate two-piece ensemble, pairing a cashmere jumper with a Carolina Herrera skirt and a pair of delicious Manolo Blahniks.
- Georgia Horsley & Danny Jones
The former Miss England looked the picture of boho bridal beauty as she married Busted’s Danny Jones. We loved the lace fishtail dress from Stephanie Allin and the Rosie Willett headpiece, which looked equally as lovely when she let her hair down later in the day.
- Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson
The picture of a princess bride, Jessica chose a gold embroidered gown, custom made by Carolina Herrera. The A-line skirt looked perfect on her figure.
- Jessica Michibata & Jenson Button
We don’t know who made her dress but we are 100% loving Jessica’s mantilla veil with intricate lace trim. The rest of the outfit looks pure and traditional but check out those bobby-dazzler chandelier earrings. This girl knows how to accessorise.
- Renee Puente & Matthew Morrison
When Glee’s Mr Schu waited at the aisle for his bride, we bet he had no idea she would be wearing such a knockout wedding dress by Gustavo Cadile. It’s hard to tell what’s more pleasing: the long sleeves (in Maui!), the lovely lace, or the casual yet sumptuous flower crown.
- Poppy Delevingne & James Cook
You probably already know by now that Cara’s big sister wore not only a custom-made Chanel wedding dress that invoked the 1930’s era, but also had an amazing Pucci number for her second ceremony in Morocco. Not jealous, not jealous at all.
- Lauren Conrad & William Tell
Hasn’t the ex Laguna Beach and The Hills star grown up? She encapsulated casual Californian elegance with easy flowing blonde locks and a custom made Badgley Mischka wedding dress. There was also an epic veil too to complete the look.
- Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt
In case you forgot, Angie’s dress was by Verscae. Simple, sleek, clean silhouette with a ruched bust and full A-Line skirt. She just also happened to let her kids have a hand in designing it, too.
- Georgie Thompson & Sir Ben Ainslie
The picture of traditional English wedding, the former Sky Sports News presenter looked stunning as she married her Olympic sailing sweetheart. At just 5 foot, Georgie proves that a full skirt doesn’t need to be overwhelming on a petite frame.
- Piper Perabo & Stephen T. Kay
You may just about remember her as that girl from Coyote Ugly, but now you’ll remember her as the lass who wore a rocking metallic dress for her wedding that made her look a little bit like a giant reptile with a strange plume of yellow tulle as a veil.
- Amal Alamuddin & George Clooney
Did the new Mrs Clooney put a sartorial step wrong during any part of the weekend nuptials in Venice? We think not and we would have been mad as fire if, with the pick of the world’s designers at your fingertips, it had not been all so fabulous. Perhaps the final, fabulous farewell to Oscar de la Renta.
- Fearne Cotton & Jesse Wood
The wedding was secret (until it broke all over social media), the dress was Pucci and the message was clear: be the kind of bride you want to be.
- Kate Bosworth & Michael Polish
The Hollywood actress chose not just one Oscar de la Renta wedding dress, but two! This second one seen later in the evening looks like it is straight out of a romantic dream. We couldn’t love it more if we tried.
- Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Love her or loathe her, the one thing you’ve got to say about Kim Kardashian is that she is well-versed in how to hold a wedding these days. Luckily, her not-at-all-controlling most recent husband matched his bride by wearing Givenchy, as did the couple’s daughter, North.
